On Wednesday 14 April 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 272 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 784 fatalities (seven new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

272 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 9,510 tests carried out the day before, representing 43.44 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.86%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 191.00. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 122 people are in hospital with the virus, including 33 patients (with one coming from the Grand Est in France) in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 13 April 2021, there are currently 3,347 active infections known, whilst a total of 60,203 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.23.

As of Tuesday, a total of 141,352 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (103,565 first doses, 37,787 second doses); 3,577 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,684 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
