On Tuesday 13 April 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 179 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 777 fatalities (five new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

179 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 10,412 tests carried out the day before, representing 28.59 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.72%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 176.14. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 136 people are in hospital with the virus, including 33 patients (with one coming from the Grand Est in France) in intensive care. 

As per figures from Monday 12 April 2021, there are currently 3,273 active infections known, whilst a total of 60,012 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.95.

As of Monday, a total of 135,091 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (99,988 first doses, 35,103 second doses); 3,935 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 878 received their second dose on Monday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
