On Monday 5 April 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 54 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections for Monday; there have been 760 fatalities (five new deaths since Sunday) resulting from the virus to date.

54 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 1,016 tests carried out the day before, representing 8.62 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 5.32%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 191.29. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 133 people are in hospital with the virus, including 30 patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Friday 2 April 2021, there are currently 3,759 active infections known, whilst a total of 57,596 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.94.

As of Friday, a total of 99,356 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (75,862 1st doses, 23,494 2nd doses); 2,710 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 988 received their second dose on Friday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
