On Wednesday 24 March 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 353 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 728 fatalities (two new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
353 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 11,861 tests carried out the day before, representing 56.38 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.98%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 229.43. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 121 people are in hospital with the virus, including seventeen patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 23 March 2021, there are currently 3,337 active infections known, whilst a total of 55,842 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.06.
As of Tuesday, a total of 77,997 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 1,904 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 560 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
