In response to a parliamentary question, Luxembourg's Minister of Health Paulette Lenert confirmed on Wednesday that so far only one-third of those who had been sent an invitation to get vaccinated against COVID-19 had gone on to make an appointment.
The Health Minister specified that, since 1 January 2021, the authorities had invited a total of 5,226 individuals to receive the vaccine at the Hall Victor Hugo vaccination centre in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. Invitees included healthcare workers, first responders, fire fighters from the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) and general practitioners.
As of 20 January 2021, 1,637 of those invited had made an appointment, representing a turnout of around 31.3%.
The deadline to make an appointment is this Sunday 24 January 2021.
