On Tuesday 17 November 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 425 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 240 fatalities (four more deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
425 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 8,806 tests carried out the day before, representing 1,406 per 100,000 inhabitants. Saturday 24 October marked the record high of daily cases with 862 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 565.29; the record of 678.57 was set on 3 November 2020.
236 people are in hospital with the virus, including 48 patients in intensive care. There are currently 9,417 active infections known, whilst a total of 18,024 people have recovered from the virus to date.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg remains stable at 0.98.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
