Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has announced the creation of a non-profit association (ASBL) grouping together acute care hospitals in the Grand Duchy.

Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert, and the presidents of the boards of directors of the Hôpitaux aigus du Luxembourg (acute care hospitals of Luxembourg), Jean Feith (CHdN), Georges Mischo (CHEM), Paul Mousel (CHL) and Jean-Louis Schiltz (HRS), recently announced the constitution of the “Groupement des hôpitaux aigus” ASBL.

The non-profit's primary mission will be the recovery and dynamic management of the national stock of personal protective equipment and medical devices in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This national security stock is intended for the entire hospital sector and COPAS (Confédération des organismes prestataires d'aides et de soins), which represents care sector service providers in Luxembourg.

Dr Philippe Turk will chair the board of directors.
