On Monday 9 November 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 180 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections yesterday; there have been 193 fatalities (five more fatalities since Sunday) resulting from the virus to date.
180 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 1,079 tests carried out the day before, representing 28.75 per 100,000 inhabitants. Saturday 24 October marked the record high of daily cases with 862 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 590.00; the record of 678.57 was set on 3 November 2020.
198 people are in hospital with the virus, including 40 patients in intensive care. As of Sunday 8 November 2020, there were 9,118 active infections known, whilst a total of 13,913 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 0.82.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
