On Thursday 5 November 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 803 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections yesterday; there have been 177 fatalities (six more fatalities since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
803 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 11,981 tests carried out the day before, representing 128.25 per 100,000 inhabitants. Saturday 24 October marked the record high of daily cases with 862 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 673.00, slightly down from the record of 678.57 set on 3 November 2020.
215 people are in hospital with the virus, including 36 patients in intensive care. As of Wednesday 4 November 2020, there were 9,451 active infections known, whilst a total of 11,519 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.00.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
