Luxembourg's Ministry of Health announced that two new COVID-19 testing centres will open their doors in the south of the country this week.
The opening of two new testing centres, one in Esch-sur-Alzette and the other in Dudelange, comes in response to increasing demand for coronavirus diagnostic tests in the Grand Duchy.
From midday today, Tuesday 3 November 2020, a COVID-19 testing centre will open its doors at 2 Rue Jos Kieffer in Esch-sur-Alzette. Testing will be carried out without an appointment but a medical prescription is required. The new centre will be open seven days a week from 10:00 to 17:00.
From Friday 6 November 2020, the National Health Laboratory (Laboratoire national de santé - LNS) will open a drive-in prescription-only testing centre on its premises in Dudelange (1 Rue Louis Rech). Testing will be by appointment only: rdv.lns.lu/. The centre will be open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00.
In both of the new centres, children aged six and over can get tested.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that some private laboratories will increase COVID-19 testing this week.
