On Saturday 31 October 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 799 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections yesterday; there have been 157 fatalities (five more fatalities since Friday) resulting from the virus to date.
799 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Saturday from a total of 13,919 tests carried out the day before, representing 127.61 per 100,000 inhabitants. Saturday 24 October marked the record high of daily cases with 862 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 602.71, a new record.
169 people are in hospital with the virus, including 26 patients in intensive care. As of Thursday 29 October 2020, there were 6,901 active infections known, whilst a total of 10,081 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.20.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
