On Thursday 29 October 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 697 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections yesterday; there have been 150 fatalities (three more fatalities since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
697 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 8,646 tests carried out the day before, representing 111.32 per 100,000 inhabitants. Saturday marked the record high of daily cases with 862 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 574.29, a new record.
140 people are in hospital with the virus, including 21 patients in intensive care. As of Wednesday 28 October 2020, there were 6,431 active infections known, whilst a total of 9,865 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.30.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
