Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 141 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 7,347 tests carried out on residents on Thursday, as well as one additional death; there have now been 130 fatalities resulting from the virus.
The total number of Luxembourg residents having tested positive for coronavirus stands at 9,360 as of early evening on Friday 9 October 2020.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 91.29.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 31, with one patient in intensive care. At present, there are 1,192 active infections known, whilst a total of 8,038 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.17.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
