As part of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, Omega 90 asbl has presented its new awareness project, the "End of Life Trilogy".
Like every year, the second Saturday in October marks World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. An important day for the promotion of palliative care all over the world - and, for Omega 90, an opportunity to present its new awareness project, featuring courses and workshops for the public.
One of the core missions of Omega 90 is raising awareness and spreading information on the topics of serious illness, end of life, death and bereavement. Even if these subjects remain a taboo in society, they concern all of us. It was from this perspective that the concept of the "End of Life Trilogy" was born.
“We often feel helpless in the face of the death of a loved one, whether it is a family member, friend or neighbour,” explained Nicole Weis-Liefgen, Director of Omega 90. “In recent decades, the ancestral know-how of end-of-life support has gradually disappeared. We want to restore confidence to face such a situation".
The End of Life Trilogy includes three different workshops:
- "Last help" offers an opportunity for anyone interested in an exchange with Omega 90 employees and other people and to receive information about the end of life and death in Luxembourg (duration: 2 - 3 hours);
- "Last companion" is aimed at answering the questions of those accompanying or caring for a seriously ill person at home or in an institution (duration: 3 hours);
- "Last wish" offers the public a moment of discussion with Omega 90 and other interested people on preparing the drafting of their end-of-life wishes (duration: 3 hours).
Registration is possible via a form on the Omega 90 website, via tel.: 260-037-1 or via email: info@omega90.lu.
