Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 140 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 6,601 tests carried out on residents on Tuesday; there have been 128 fatalities (no change since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
The total number of Luxembourg residents having tested positive for coronavirus stands at 9,119 as of early evening on Wednesday 7 October 2020.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 86.00.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 35, with two patients in intensive care. At present, there are 1,091 active infections known, whilst a total of 7,900 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.10.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
