Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 181 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections and one additional death over the weekend; there have now been 126 fatalities resulting from the virus to date.
88 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Saturday from a total of 6,418 tests carried out the day before, with a further 93 having tested positive on Sunday from 6,508 tests carried out the previous day.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 75.57.
As of Sunday 4 October 2020, 28 people were in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care.
As of Friday 2 October 2020, there were 1,156 active infections known, whilst a total of 7,428 people had recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 0.91.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
