Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 115 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 6,380 tests carried out on residents on Thursday; there have been 125 fatalities (unchanged since 1 October 2020) resulting from the virus to date.
The total number of Luxembourg residents having tested positive for coronavirus stands at 8,709 as of early evening on Friday 2 October 2020.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 67.43.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 28, with three patients in intensive care. At present, there are 1,156 active infections known, whilst a total of 7,428 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 0.91.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
