Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 189 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections over the weekend; there have been 124 fatalities (no change since 17 August) resulting from the virus to date.

86 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Saturday from a total of 4,669 tests carried out the day before, with a further 103 having tested positive on Sunday from 3,654 tests carried out the previous day.

As of Sunday 20 September 2020, eighteen people were in hospital with the virus, including one patient in intensive care.

As of Friday 18 September 2020, there were 891 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,703 people had recovered from the virus.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.42.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
