Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 40 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 7,718 tests carried out on residents on Monday; there have been 124 fatalities (no change since 17 August) resulting from the virus to date.

The total number of Luxembourg residents having tested positive for coronavirus stands at 7,284 as of early evening on Tuesday 15 September 2020. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 44.00.  

The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is nineteen, with no patients in intensive care. At present, there are 599 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,561 people have recovered from the virus.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 0.99.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
