Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 43 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 7,369 tests carried out on Thursday; since 24 August, the published figures now only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,854 as of early evening on Friday 4 September 2020.

There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 38.14.  

The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is eleven, with no patients in intensive care. There are currently 604 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,126 people have recovered from the virus.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.01.
