Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 43 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 8,536 tests carried out on Tuesday; since 24 August, the published figures now only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,745 as of early evening on Wednesday 2 September 2020.

There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 36.00.  

The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is sixteen, with one patient in intensive care. There are currently 606 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,015 people have recovered from the virus.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.02.
