Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 24 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 5,235 tests carried out on Monday; since 24 August, the published figures now only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,702 as of early evening on Tuesday 1 September 2020.
There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 42.71.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 28, with two patients in intensive care. There are currently 587 active infections known, whilst a total of 5,990 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.05.
