Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 45 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 6,847 tests carried out on Friday; since 24 August, the published figures now only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,625 as of early evening on Saturday 29 August 2020.
There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Friday) resulting from the virus to date.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 39.43.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 30, with two patients in intensive care. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.03.
