Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 37 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 8,082 tests carried out on Thursday; the published figures only include resident infection numbers, which have reached a total of 6,580 as of early evening on Friday 28 August 2020.

There have been 124 fatalities (no change since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 41.29.  

The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 30, with two patients in intensive care. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.03.

Neither the number of currently active infections nor the total number of people having recovered from the virus to date is available at present.
