The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 6,056 (up 104 from Thursday), including 112 fatalities (unchanged) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Friday 24 July 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 4,936 are residents and 1,120 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 43, with the ratio of men to women being 52% / 48%, while the median age of the victims who lost their lives to the virus is 85 (average age: 84). The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases stands at 91.14.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 51, with three patients in intensive care. 1,012 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out 387,437 tests including 312,717 on residents and 74,720 on non-residents; on Thursday 23 July 2020, 17,964 tests were carried out. Currently there are 1,298 people known to be infected while 4,647 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.01.
