The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 5,952 (up 98 from Wednesday), including 112 fatalities (up one) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Thursday 23 July 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 4,852 are residents and 1,100 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 43, with the ratio of men to women being 52% / 48%, while the median age of the victims who lost their lives to the virus is 85 (average age: 84). The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases stands at 94.00.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 57, with one patient in intensive care. 1,008 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out 375,256 tests including 303,951 on residents and 71,305 on non-residents; on Wednesday 22 July 2020, 8,928 tests were carried out. Currently there are 1,250 people known to be infected while 4,591 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.20.
