The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 5,854 (up 129 from Tuesday), including 111 fatalities (unchanged) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Wednesday 22 July 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 4,775 are residents and 1,079 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 43, with the ratio of men to women being 52% / 48%, while the median age of the victims who lost their lives to the virus is 85 (average age: 84). The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases has exceeded 100 (103.29).
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 59, with five patients in intensive care. 1,006 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out 370,539 tests including 300,674 on residents and 69,866 on non-residents; on Tuesday 21 July 2020, 19,079 tests were carried out. Currently there are 1,214 people known to be infected while 4,530 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.11.
