The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 5,122 (up 66 from Tuesday), including 111 fatalities (unchanged) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Wednesday 15 July 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 4,214 are residents and 908 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 44, with the ratio of men to women being 52% / 48%, while the median age of the victims who lost their lives to the virus is 85 (average age: 84). The rate of positive tests stands at 0.65% and the average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases has reached 67.43.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 38, with four patients in intensive care. 981 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out 302,812 tests including 244,956 on residents and 57,856 on non-residents; currently there are 764 people known to be infected while 4,247 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.16.
