Luxembourg's family planning service, Planning Familial, has announced the expansion of its emotional and sexual education sessions on social media.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Planning Familial cancelled all its emotional and sexual education (ESA) sessions for young people until the start of the new school year in September 2020. While sexual health is central to everyone's health, the service has noted a lack of use or access to prevention information and services related to sexuality in the current context.

Consequently, Planning Familial has decided to expand its offer from today, Monday 15 June 2020, to a new way to stay in touch via an Instagram account. The new Planning Familial Luxembourg Instagram page is mainly intended for an audience aged 12 and over. It will be regularly updated with subjects and themes that interest young people, allowing them to follow and contact the service via this platform in a more intuitive, spontaneous and above all confidential way.

To advertise this new offer, Planning Familial has launched the campaign “Hues du Froen?" (do you have questiosn?) in schools and various other structures so that young (and even not so young) people are aware that the service is always there for them.

Young people can also continue to contact the service via email: esa@pfl.lu, where they will receive a response in writing, and or via an online audio or video call, depending on their request and / or need. Requests will be treated with discretion, in Luxembourgish, French, German, English and Portuguese.
