The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 3,888 (up two from Sunday), including 101 fatalities (no change from Sunday) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Monday 11 May 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 3,148 are residents and 740 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 46, with the ratio of men to women being 51.1% / 48.9%, while the median age of the victims (excluding one patient from the Grand Est) who lost their lives to the virus is 84 (average age: 83). The number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 is 86; this figure includes 18 patients (excluding those transferred from the Grand Est) in intensive care. Nevertheless, 883 have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays). The reproduction rate (Rt) of the virus stands at 0.995.
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out a total of 55,415 tests (43,762 on residents, 11,653 on non-residents); currently there are 185 people known to be infected while 3,602 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. From mid-May, Luxembourg's authorities plan to ramp up testing to 20,000 tests per day in an effort to test the entire population within one month.
