Luxembourg Air Rescue Busy Transporting Patients between France, Germany, Austria

Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) has announced three additional missions to the Grand Est region of France, as well as involving Austria and Germany.

At the request of the French health authorities, the Luxembourg Air Rescue fleet is actively pursuing its missions to repatriate COVID-19 patients from the Grand Est region. This was notably the case on Tuesday, where one of the LAR helicopters involved in this vast operation of cross-border cooperation made a flight between the hospital of the North, in Ettelbruck, and the city of Colmar to allow a patient who had recovered to return to his relatives.

At the same time, another repatriation was made - between Austria and France this time - on one of the LAR medical aircraft. Also yesterday, three additional LAR missions were scheduled, including two aboard the Learjet 45XR and the third using an MD902 helicopter. The aircraft took off from Magdeburg (located between Hannover, Leipzig and Berlin) each time: one to Metz, the other to Saarbrücken. As for the planned helicopter transfer, it was between Mainz and Mulhouse.
