City Radio Productions, the legal entity behind Ara City Radio which operates the English-language radio broadcasting from 06:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, is to be bought out by Alter Echos, the legal entity behind ARA Radio with whom it has had a collaboration for 20+ years.

According to Lisa McLean, Managing Director of City Radio Productions, who spoke with Chronicle.lu, “we decided that the best option is to streamline the synergies that exist between the various structures within Radio ARA.  ARA City is there for the international communities, Graffiti is the youth programme, and Mond Op is more focused on culture and topical issues”. She added: “We have an opportunity to make the organisation more streamlined and focused on Radio ARA’s overall mission of serving the various communities in Luxembourg”.

Business as Usual

Lisa confirmed: “So on-air nothing will change, ARA City Radio will be on-air in English from 06:00 weekdays with Sam Steen on The Breakfast Show, The Daily Show will be hosted by someone different each day, with Natasha Laities Jones, Josh Island, Marina Lai, Nicole Olenskaia and Solomon Nowye on the mic”.
