Tyre manufacturer Goodyear has announced that it will partially resume tyre production next week at its plant in Colmar-Berg in Luxembourg.
The partial restart, in the midst of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis, will allow the company to maintain tyre inventories necessary to help keep essential community services moving, such as emergency responders and transporters of critical goods like food and medicine.
During this unprecedented and extremely fluid situation, Goodyear’s top priorities reportedly remain the health and wellbeing of its employees and service to its customers. To help protect employees and reduce the overall spread of COVID-19 as production resumes, the company put preventative measures in place, including additional cleaning and availability of sanitising products, limiting visitors to business-critical guests only and practicing appropriate physical and social distancing.
Warehouses are operational for continuous customer service wherever public restrictions allow.
The company has assured that it continues to closely monitor and manage its inventory levels and supply of raw materials as well as general situation around COVID-19 and will adjust its plans accordingly.
