On Saturday 10 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police issued a warning about an increase in fraudulent emails claiming to come from the police, government initiative BEE SECURE and judicial authorities in Luxembourg.
According to the police, several individuals have recently reported receiving emails falsely claiming to come from judicial authorities, including bailiffs, the police or BEE SECURE, in connection with alleged criminal investigations.
The scammers typically accuse recipients of committing a criminal offence to encourage them to respond. Once contact has been established, they attempt to obtain personal information or demand money to settle the alleged offence.
The police stressed that such requests do not reflect the official procedures of the police, judicial authorities or other public institutions.
Anyone receiving these emails should ignore the requests and delete the messages without responding.
The police also encouraged residents to inform older people in their communities about this type of scam to help prevent further victims.
