On Tuesday 18 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that it arrested a suspect in connection with break-ins into vehicles in Wiltz.
At around 03:00, a police patrol noticed a vehicle with its driver's door open on Rue Aneschbach, with two people inside. Upon noticing the officers, the two individuals fled the scene.
Police immediately pursued the suspects and caught one of them following a short chase. During their escape, the suspects reportedly dropped suspected stolen goods and possible burglary tools.
During subsequent investigations, police linked the arrested suspect to another break-in into a vehicle on the same street earlier that night.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
