The Grand Ducal Police has reported two drink-driving incidents that resulted in temporary driving bans.
On Monday 17 August 2026 at around 11:10, police received a report of a traffic accident on the CR174 towards Redange. According to initial information, the driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons that remain unclear while negotiating a right-hand bend and crashed into a tree at the side of the road.
An alcohol test carried out at the scene returned a positive result, and police issued the driver with a temporary driving ban.
Later, at around 02:15 on Tuesday 18 August 2026, a police patrol noticed a vehicle travelling at excessive speed and swerving along Avenue de l'Europe in Rollingen, so officers stopped the vehicle and carried out a check on the driver. As the subsequent alcohol test returned a positive result, police issued another temporary driving ban.
