On Friday 16 October 2026, Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, reported that the Zonta Club (ZC) Esch-sur-Alzette had donated €4,000 to the organisation.

According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, the financial contribution will be entirely allocated to its KannerStëmm social paediatrics service, which provides daily support to children and families facing severe socio-economic difficulties.

The ZC is committed to empowering women worldwide by improving their legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status through service, advocacy and education.

During the official cheque handover ceremony, Alexandra Oxacelay, director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, thanked the members of ZC Esch-sur-Alzette. She also explained how the association operates, outlining the diversity of its reception services and the various support mechanisms established to break the cycle of poverty in Luxembourg.

Established in 2021, KannerStëmm provides psychosocial care and targeted emergency material assistance tailored to children's needs. Through this support, the association directly finances essential daily living expenses, including crèche fees, nappies, basic hygiene products and water and electricity bills that affected households are unable to afford.

According to the organisation, the importance of this programme continues to grow. KannerStëmm's multidisciplinary team, which includes psychologists and social workers, works with dozens of families to provide concrete and individualised responses to often difficult and complex life circumstances.
