Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has confirmed that the National Literary Competition 2020, the subject of which is poetry collections, is set to go ahead as planned despite the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis.
To take part in this year's National Literary Competition, authors can send one typed entry each, typed and printed according to the competition rules. Entries should be submitted by Tuesday 9 June 2020 at the latest, as evidenced by the postmark. The full rules can be downloaded from https://mc.gouvernement.lu/fr/Domaines/appels-a-projets.html.
Given the current circumstances, people without a printer are exceptionally authorised to send their typescript digitally. In accordance with the principle of anonymity of the National Literary Competition, the typescript should be sent via WeTransfer in PDF format to the e-mail address concours@mc.etat.lu by 17:00 on Tuesday 9 June 2020. Both the "Send to" and "Your e-mail address" fields must include the email address mentioned above. The “Message” field as well as the cover page of the candidate's text must mention "National Literary Competition 2020", a pseudonym which must not bear any personal mark allowing the author to be identified, the title of the book and the age category (adult author or young author under 25).
In parallel, candidates must send an envelope mentioning "National Literary Competition 2020" to the literary service of the Ministry of Culture (4, bd FD Roosevelt, L-2450 Luxembourg) by 9 June at the latest, as evidenced by the postmark. This envelope must contain a small closed envelope which mentions the following on the outside: the words "National Literary Competition 2020", the chosen pseudonym, the title of the work and the age category. The envelope must contain a letter with the correct surname and first name of the author, a postal and email address, the author's phone number, the author's bank account number and the name of his / her bank.
Only complete, anonymous applications sent according to the above instructions will be submitted to the jury.
Since the candidate has no way of checking whether his / her text has been received after sending it via WeTransfer, the Ministry of Culture will publish a list of pseudonyms of complete files received digitally, which can be viewed at the following link: https://mc.gouvernement.lu/fr/Domaines/appels-a-projets.html. Candidates who choose to apply digitally therefore accept the publication of their pseudonym on the ministry's website.
