Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced that applications are open for next year’s National Literary Competition, the subject of which will be collections of tales in Luxembourgish, French, German and/or English.

The competition was first introduced in 1978 by the Ministry of Culture and its aim is to encourage literary creation in the Grand Duchy. There are two awards categories: one for adult authors who can win a €5,000 prize, and the other for young authors between the ages of 15 and 25, the first prize for which is €2,000.

The upcoming competition is open to all Luxembourgish or official resident authors. The deadline for submitting manuscripts is 30 June 2017.
