On 12 May 2016, German-Iranian writer and laureat of the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, Navid Kermani, will be at Neumünster Abbey as a guest of the Institut Pierre Werner.
Considered one of the most important intellectuals of Germany, Navid Kermani will be awarded the prestigious Peace Prize this Sunday for his promotion of a peaceful existence of a society comprised of people of differing national and religious backgrounds.
On 12 May 2016, the writer and Orientalist will be joining Luxembourgish author Guy Helminger as a guest of the Institut Pierre Werner, to be received by a public in the Grand Duchy. The two already know each other from Cologne, where they are regularly invited to literary parties. One example is that of French author Mathias Enard, who is currently nominated for the Prix Goncourt for his novel 'Boussole'.
At the event, organised by the IPW with support from the University of Luxembourg, the writers will be discussing the mutual influence of Christianity and Islam and the contribution of the great religious and philosophical trends to an international and multicultural Europe.
