On Wednesday 22 January 2025, EY Luxembourg announced a series of leadership appointments.

Adriana Boixados has been appointed as the new Deputy Country Managing Partner at EY Luxembourg, "stepping in to strengthen [EY's] ability to meet the demands of [its] growing firm and support [its] long-term strategic vision". She is set to play "a critical role" in enhancing leadership capacity to navigate the firm's next phase of growth.

Adriana served as Country People Leader for the past two years, effectively managing the firm's people and related operational initiatives across all service lines and functions. She will be working closely with Country Managing Partner, Olivier Coekelbergs, and the rest of the leadership team to define and drive strategic priorities. She is also a Tax Partner with 20 years of experience in advising alternative asset managers on a broad range of transactions skilled in providing strategic guidance and navigating complex deal structures.

Commenting on the appointment, Olivier Coekelbergs said: "This highlights our firm's dynamism, our focus on talent and our commitment to making timely, strategic decisions. We are confident that Adriana will excel in this new position".

Among the functional leaders, René Ensch succeeds Adriana Boixados as the new Country People Leader. EY Luxembourg reported that René brings "a wealth of experience" and "a fresh perspective" to the role, ensuring that the firm continues to "foster a supportive and dynamic workplace culture". René served as the firm's Country Risk Management Leader for the past four years. As an Assurance Partner, he is specialised in the real estate sector with more than 25 years of experience in audit.

Julie Honoré will take on the role of Country Risk Management Leader. With her extensive background in risk management and quality assurance, Julie is described as "well-equipped to uphold and enhance the firm's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of risk management". Julie is an Assurance Partner in the real estate sector. She has strong industry skills serving the entire real estate value chain from developers and constructors to real estate investment funds.

Furthermore, Alban Aubrée has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. He will focus on enhancing EY Luxembourg's operations. Over the last five years as Chief Financial Officer, Alban has been "successfully driving" the firm's financial matters, which will continue to be "crucial" in supporting strategic operational decisions and achieving the firm's objectives.

Regarding the Service Lines, Christian Schlesser has been named the new Tax Leader of EY Luxembourg. Christian's expertise in national and international tax and his strategic vision are expected to be "instrumental" in guiding the firm's tax services and delivering "exceptional value" to clients. He was previously EY Luxembourg's Commercial and Public Sector Tax Leader, Operating Model and Transfer Pricing Leader, and has 21 years of experience working for EY in Luxembourg and Chicago.

Moreover, Bart Van Droogenbroek has been appointed the firm's TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) Leader. Bart's innovative approach and comprehensive understanding of the TMT sector are expected to drive EY Luxembourg's efforts to "provide cutting-edge solutions and insights to clients in these rapidly evolving industries". Before taking on this role, he led EY Luxembourg's Tax Practice and also formerly served as the firm's Global Telecommunication Tax Sector Leader. At the same time, concerning governance, Bart has also been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board.

EY Luxembourg noted that, in the recent past, it has implemented several role changes across service lines, sectors and senior leadership. These changes are said to "reflect the firm's ability to adapt swiftly to the evolving business environment, delivering an impressive growth year-on-year". The firm has reportedly grown by 60% over the last four years.

"Each appointment to leadership roles has been made after thorough consideration, driven by our dedication to placing the right people in the right roles at the right time. This strategic approach built on fostering a culture of agility enables us to enhance our competitiveness, deliver consistent value to our clients, promote the engagement of our people and drive growth," added Olivier Coekelbergs.
