On Monday 4 March 2024, Luxembourg's National Health Laboratory confirmed that both the President of the board of directors, Professor Evelin Schröck, as well as the current Director of the LNS, Dr Michel Toungouz Nevessignsky, have announced their resignations.
During recent meetings, the Board of Directors of the National Health Laboratory (LNS) reported on the evolution of the various reorganisation projects and challenges facing the institution, such as the reduction of turn-around times in genetics and anatomopathology, as well as the accreditation process of these different departments.
Considering the imminent challenges that require the implementation of a new strategic plan, the President of the board of directors and the current Director of the LNS have both tendered their resignations.
Pending the appointment of a new Director, the day-to-day operations of the LNS will be ensured by the deputy directors, Dr. Thomas Dentzer and Mrs. Safaâ Moujahid, under the responsibility of Dr. Jean-Claude Schmit, Vice-President of the Board of Directors.
