According to ADEM, Luxembourg's employment agency, the number of resident jobseekers available for work as of 30 June 2022 stood at 13,638; over one year, this represents a decrease of 2,764 people, or 16.9%.

The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations, calculated by STATEC, stood at 4.7% (up from 4.6% at the end of May 2022).

Figures were down for all categories of jobseekers, with the exception of those who had been registered with ADEM for less than four months, which were up by 9.6%.

The number of new registrations was also on the rise again: a total of 2,156 residents registered with ADEM during the month of June 2022, an increase of 187 people or 9.5% compared to June 2021. New registrations last month included 168 registrations from beneficiaries of temporary protection (i.e. refugees from Ukraine).

However, the number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 1,488 or 17.8% over one year, to 6,880. 

The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stood at 4,449 and was below the level observed in June 2021 (a decrease of 148 people or 3.2%).

During the month of June 2022, employers declared 4,252 vacancies to ADEM, which corresponds to an increase of 8.7% over one year. The total number of positions available at the end of June 2022 stood at 13,599 – another all time high. The increase over one year was 39.7%.
