Delphine Nicolay, ALEBA;
The trade union for staff working in the financial service sector, ALEBA, has announced the appointment of Delphine Nicolay as its Acting Secretary General.
Since June 2019, the last elections for the constitution of the ALEBA Administrative Committee, she held the position of Vice-President and, today, on the proposal of President Roberto Mendolia, Delphine Nicolay has accepted the post of Acting Secretary General.
Following the departure of Laurent Mertz at the end of March 2021, Roberto Mendolia was looking for a "right-hand man" to help him manage ALEBA, and offered the position to Delphine Nicolay.
“It is finally with great pleasure that I decided to agree to support Roberto Mendolia ad interim in the noble causes that he defends, among others, this fight for trade union freedoms and representativeness, which does not only concern the ALEBA, but also all the employees of the country: the meeting with the renewal of collective agreements, still under discussion, reminds us that we must remain ambitious, but also vigilant and cautious, these qualities and ideas that we share with our President."
Delphine Nicolay, of French nationality and living in Belgium, started working in private banking in France in 1996 and arrived in Luxembourg in September 2000. From Schroders Investment Management Lux SA, she joined in 2004 the Bank of New York Mellon where she is still working and is President of the Staff Delegation.
His mandate as Secretary General of ALEBA takes effect now and for the remainder of 2021.
