Luxembourg-based construction tech company LEKO® has announced the appointment of Margareta Sailer as its Chief People Officer (CPO), effective as of 15 July 2020.

Originally from Austria, 39-year-old Margareta "Meggy" Sailer has spent a major part of her career in the United Kingdom. She has gained experience with the pulsatile pace of rapidly growing start-ups since 2006, when she helped scale BlackBerry during its hyper growth across Europe and the UK headquarter. Between 2011 and 2015, Meggy Sailer led Tesla’s recruitment expansion within EMEA through to becoming a global brand, setting up the company’s recruitment and sourcing team and helping to scale the then-start-up from five to more than 60 locations in ten countries. Most recently, Meggy Sailer was Global Head of Recruitment at Lilium (Munich), supporting the organisation in building the company from the ground up and increasing the overall headcount from 30 to 400 in less than three years.

Commenting on her appointment, Meggy Sailer said: “I am delighted to join LEKO®, an incredibly innovative tech venture, at a moment where the company is on the verge of becoming an international organisation and look forward to accelerating the momentum that has been built up since 2017. Together with a great team, we will prepare for the upcoming scale-up process, build on the existing company culture, find the best people and make LEKO® a global brand”.

Francois Cordier, Founder and CEO of LEKO®, added: “We are thrilled to have Meggy in our team. The decision to take her on board as CPO – our first C-level hire - is a strategic and crucial one, equipping us for the next important phase in our journey. Looking at her track record gives an idea of the direction that LEKO® is heading to as an organisation. Meggy’s experience will help us not only to further build our team yet also to establish sales and service channels allowing us to expand worldwide”.
