Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) has announce the appointment of Helmut Glemser as Chief Risk Officer; he will join the bank on 24 August 2020 and become a member of the Authorised Management Board, subject to regulatory approval.

Helmut Glemser has more than 30 years of experience in Risk Management and joins BIL from Lloyds Banking Group in London, where he was a Managing Director responsible for Risk Models and Methodologies as well as Deputy Group Head of Market Risk. Previous roles included Global Head Counterparty Credit Market Risk and Global Head Structured Products Risk Control at UBS in London. He holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Freiburg as well as a PhD in Mathematics from the ETH in Zurich.

Helmut Glemser succeeds Stéphane Albert, who will further contribute to BIL’s development by focusing on the roll-out of key group-wide projects and initiatives and become senior advisor to the CEO.
