From 15 March 2019, Daniel Nickels will assume the role of Deputy Director of the Centre for Information Technology of the State (CTIE) in Luxembourg.

At its meeting today, the Cabinet decided to propose the appointment of Daniel Nickels to this position to His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Nickels would assume the role as of next Friday.

Born on 21 May 1969, Daniel Nickels has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Liège. A busy CTIE division manager for a decade, he possesses extensive experience in team management and large-scale project management. In particular, Nickels has in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructures and platforms, from the network level to the application layers, as well as software architectures.

The CTIE, with some 500 employees, is under the supervision of the Ministry of Digitalisation. As an IT service provider in Luxembourg, the centre is a key player in the establishment and development of eGovernment for the benefit of citizens and businesses. Its main mission is to support the digital transition of Luxembourg's administrations, so that each can take full advantage of the opportunities offered by information and communication technologies. The CTIE is also in charge of the MyGuichet.lu platform.
