Alter Domus, a provider of third-party middle office, fund and corporate services to alternative investment managers and lenders globally, has announced that it has appointed Spencer Wells to lead its UK office in London.

As Alter Domus completes its fifteen years, the expansion of its London office and appointment of Spencer is in line with the firm’s strategy to continue to develop the UK as one of its key strategic locations in growing its business and developing its international client base.

In March 2018 the firm announced the completion of the Cortland Capital Markets Acquisition. As part of that transaction it welcomed new colleagues from the Cortland office in the UK into the premises of its UK office. This team provides business development and account management for European Debt Capital Market clients.

Spencer Wells is a welcome addition to the already thriving UK team and brings to the table over 27 years of experience in financial services. Spencer joined Alter Domus in January 2012 and his previous role was Head of the Channel Islands & Country Executive Jersey.

Spencer is responsible for driving the performance and growth of the UK business together with expanding new and existing client relationships in the region.
In addition to Spencer’s appointment the UK Management team has been further strengthened by the recruitment of Matthew Molton as Head of Operations UK. Matthew has more than 13 years of experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining Alter Domus, Matthew was a Director at M&G Real Estate.

Patrick McCullagh, Head of sales EMEA, also based in its London office, will continue to focus on assisting the UK office to achieve its ambitious targets for growth.

In testimony to the robust and growing transfer pricing business in the UK, Karan Dutta was recently promoted to Transfer Pricing Director. Karan is a specialist in Transfer Pricing, bringing 10 years of professional experience within this area. In addition, he has expertise in advance agreements with tax authorities (APAs and ATCAs), M&A due diligence support, transfer pricing policy planning and global compliance, interest rate and margin analyses amongst others.
