Adrienne Haan performing with Richard Danley;

The Triad Theatre in New York City recently hosted a number of performances of "White Christmas at the Triad" starring Luxembourg-German entertainer and multi-award winning singer Adrienne Haan, with the script by Laurence Pierron and arrangements and Musical Direction by Richard Danley; Produced by Peter Martin for the Triad off-Broadway Theatre in NYC.

This year is an important year for anything “Irving-Berlin-and-Luxembourg-in-NYC”, because there are many connections between this unique composer and Luxembourg. For instance, Irving Berlin worked with Luxembourgish photographer Edward Steichen, the curator of the MOMA Photography Department (1947-62). Edward Steichen and Irving Berlin had both escaped their mother country as young children to flee to America on the Red Star Line: Edward Steichen in 1881, Irving Berlin (born in Imperial Russia, what is Belarus today) in 1893.

Today, Irving Berlin’s former home at 17 Beekman Place in New York is owned by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with the Consulate General, the Luxembourg Trade Office and the Permanent Mission to the UN located inside. The "Luxembourg House" was renovated from 1990-1993 by Luxembourg architect Michel Franck of Spacesmith in New York.

Also, Irving Berlin wrote the musical “Call me Madam” in his home at 17 Beekman Place, inspired by the first female US Ambassador to Luxembourg, Ms. Perle Mesta.
These facts have all been linked into the script written by Laurence Pierron. The premiere was attended by special guests such as Edward Emmet, the grandson of Irving Berlin and his 6-year-old daughter, great-grand-daughter of Irving Berlin, Louisa Emmet, Elisabeth Matson, grand-daughter of Irving Berlin, the Consul General of Belarus, HE Viktar Charakhovich and his wife, as well as the German Consul and Head of the Press Department of the German Consulate General in New York, Christian Resing, and his wife, Kit Forrestal, the daughter-in-law of James Forrestal, first US Secretary of Defence who owned the house at 17 Beekman Place before Irving Berlin.
Irving Berlin would have turned 130 years old this year and, yes, 2018 is also the 100th Centennial of "God Bless America".
