The Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg (FJSL) has confirmed that Carlo Hansen hs been succeeded by Paul Heuschling as president of the organisation.

After sixteen years of presidency, Carlo Hansen has passed the torch to Paul Heuschling, who they describe as having the experience and vision perfectly suited to ensuring the continuity of the achievements to date.

Under Carlo Hansen’s presidency, the foundation has undergone a major transformation, turning its competition into a flagship event for young scientists in Luxembourg. Through his passionate commitment, he has enabled numerous talents to flourish, further strengthening the foundation’s impact on the scientific landscape. The foundation extended its gratitude to him for these years of presidency, which they described as marked by vision and dedication.

According to the FJSL, the foundation is embarking on a new chapter with the nomination of Paul Heuschling, who they describe as an experienced scientist and former vice-president of the foundation. "His accumulated experience in various leadership roles at the University of Luxembourg, his contribution to the development of medical education in Luxembourg, and his key role in fostering synergies between academia and industry make him the ideal president to carry forward and sustain this momentum".
